Design Achille Castiglioni

The Castiglioni collection originates from Achille Castiglioni’s original drawings, sketches and maquettes dating back to the 1980s. The tap that defines the aesthetic of the entire collection stands out for its combination of simple yet striking elements. The cylindrical base precisely houses the spout’s cylinder and the two control levers, distinguished by the signature “linguetta” — a key feature of the entire line — in the iconic red and blue shades, ensuring immediate recognition of the functions. Innovative in its configuration, the tap combines the concept of a three-hole system into a singlehole
design.

Another iconic element of the collection is the vertical shower plate: its discreet yet striking presence draws the eye, while its soft lines and rounded edges embody the perfect balance of functionality and the intelligent irony that defines the entire range.

Achille Castiglioni

Born in Milan in 1918, Achille Castiglioni graduated from the Politecnico di Milano in 1944. Throughout his career, he worked on urban planning, architecture, exhibitions and product design, always driven by a constant pursuit of functionality. He played an active role in the post-war reconstruction, contributing to the rebuilding of the Palazzo della Società per le Belle Arti. A winner of seven Compasso d’Oro awards, he received his final accolade in 1979. In 1978, he designed the innovative tap series to which Mamoli now pays tribute by naming it after him.
