Antonia Campi

Antonia Campi was a prominent figure in 20th-century Italian design. She graduated in sculpture from the Brera Academy in 1947 and began her career at Società Ceramica Italiana in Laveno, maintaining a lifelong curiosity for contemporary production. In the 1950s and ’60s, she also took an interest in Mamoli’s taps, founded by her friend Spartaco Mamoli, collaborating informally and suggesting material innovations that influenced product development. In 2011, she was awarded the Compasso d’Oro for Lifetime Achievement, recognising her enduring impact on design, with works held in international museums including MoMA, New York, and the V&A, London.
